Steven Lindsay Ross
First Nations Advisory Committee
I am a sovereign Wamba Wamba man from Deniliquin, connected to the Wiradjuri, Muthi Muthi, and Gunditjmara peoples through my family. I was born on Gadigal Country, grew up between my homelands and Marrickville, and now live on Dharug Country in Parramatta. I am a proud Queer man and my pronouns are he/him.
I work in the Blacktown community, fighting for the aspirations of mob. Currently I lead a project for a Cultural Hub in Mount Druitt, ensuring Dharug peoples lead its design and program. I also engage broader First Nations communities through established protocols.
As a cultural producer I organize Queer events in Blacktown and Parramatta and curate exhibitions, including at Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-op. I co-edited the First Nations Queer poetry anthology “Nangamay, Mana, Djurali” with Alison Whittaker.
I have served on several boards and advisory groups and am currently the Secretary of Gadigal Information Services, which includes Koori Radio.
