Proton Shake

Sun Jul 9 2017

Proton Shake is a night of new tunes straight from the petri dish, featuring live elecsplorations from Twin Caverns, Golden Orb, Anomie and Outskert.
All acts feature queer and/or female musicians.

Twin Caverns are a trio from Sydney who have made international success with their EP ‘Glass Balloon’. They will be performing new material including their new single Reprieve// Repave.

Golden Orb are a duo who collaborate interstate, and are reuniting in Sydney to unleash all new material. Golden Orb combine live electronics, synth, violin and poetry in a search for the place between humans and machines, hoping to discover what we are really made of. Beats, notes, words, creaks, groans and murmurs are conjured from memory banks, then manipulated and rearranged spontaneously in an ecstatic moment of creation.

In music scenes dominated by testosterone and bravado, Anomie (aka Sofie Loizou) has worked hard to become a serious force to be reckoned with. Bringing together beautifully nuanced electronics with forward-thinking dancefloor sensibilities, this Red Bull Music Academy Alumni has played alongside the seminal greats including Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Kode 9, Teebs, and many more.

Outskert (Paige Philips) creates experimental and improvised musical textures with guitar loops and effects pedals, and invites audiences to play along by tweaking knobs, singing, drumming or whatever it is they wish to experiment with.
